Underworld Project -Update :) x

Image
It has been a while since I have written on here, and also the progress of my Digital Painting has been lacking, due to looking for work and other commitments :) So for the start of the Underworld Project, I have decided to paint the character Selene ( Kate Beckinsale) from the underworld 2 poster Here is my progress so far... At the moment I am quite happy with the result, I feel more can be done on the hair by giving more definition and realistic looks. Overall the face features look ok from looking at the poster frequently... I am hoping to finish this piece by the end of this week as I am trying to complete this project by Christmas, as I have more Ideas for my Digital Paintings. Will write back with progress later :) xxx

New Project : Underworld "Digital Painting Project" :) x

Image
After my last successful Digital Painting, I have decided to take on a Digital Painting Project, based on my all time favourite film saga: Underworld. For this I am going to choose my favourite characters from the movies and digitaly paint them: . Michael Sheen: Lucian . Kate Beckinsale: Selene . Bill Nighy: Viktor . Lycan These characters will be a mix from all four films and hopefully produce a cracking result. I hope to make weekly reports on how the paintings are going and if any problems arise... I have to say this is one project that I am extremely looking foward too... Wish me luck lol :) x Toni xx

Digital Painting - David Oakes as "George, Duke of Clarence" from The White Queen

Image
So I have finally completed my third Digital Painting, which I have mentioned in previous posts. I decided to do this portrait as I am a massive fan of The White Queen, and really like the character. I am now going to look into doing more digital painting but this time looking into Landscapes :) x Will write back soon :) x

Back to Digital Painting :D

Image
Now that I have sorted my CV out, I can get back to my Digital Painting... As I stated in my recent post about Digitial Painting, I am currently painting my favourite actors, which at the moment I have managed to paint Jeremy Irons as Rodrigo Borgia, and Mads Mikkelsen as DR Hannibal Lecter (Please see previous posts). Now I am continuing with this, with painting another of my favourite actors David Oakes, who has recently done The White Queen now showing on BBC One. (I do not own this photo, all rights to Charlie Grey (IMDB.com) I am hoping to paint this in black and white, as this will be my first greyscale Digital Painting. Im hoping the results will be fab and as good as the other two. Will post on here when complete :) x

Progress Report :P

Hi guys Just a quick update on my progress... Well I can officially say that I have graduated University with a 2:1... which I am so happy with. All the hard work has paid off.... so now I am currently looking for a job. With this I have not been able to spend all my time on my digital paintings... but I am really happy with the comments on my last paintings, which I uploaded onto my instagram You are more than welcome to follow me on instagram  : tonihaythornwhite I am currently in the process of updating my cv and sending it out to companys that specialise in vfx. I have also been updating my LinkedIn account. If anyone has a LinkedIn account, feel free to connect with me :) If anyone can advise me on how to proceed on looking for work or improving my skills in digital painting, I would really appreciate it :) Hope to write back soon and show off another digital painting :) x

Digital Painting - Mads Mikkelsen

Image
Here is my second attempt of Digital Painting portrait of another of my favourite actor, Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter... I am really pleased with this result, as before I feel I went a bit over the top with shading, but for this I feel I have got the colour and depth just right... Will post back with my next digital painting portrait soon :) x

Digital Painting - Jeremy Irons

Image
Here is the result of my first digital painting portrait... I am quite pleased with the result, and I have put this to some people and they said they could tell that it was Jeremy Irons, as Rodrigo Borgia but some of the shading was a bit rough and dark in places. Having took on the comments, I know what I need to be concentrating on and put this onto my next digital painting, which will be Mads Mikkelsen, as Hannibal Lecter. Will post back as soon as I have finished :) x

My Project - Digital Painting :)

Image
With me finishing University last month, I am currently waiting on my results... which I will hopefully receive this week... So in the mean time, I am going to be doing some digital painting, and for my project, I am going to be painting in Photoshop some of my favourite actors... With me being a massive Borgias and Hannibal Fan, I am going to try and paint the following actors from these reference images I have taken from the Internet: Jeremy Irons Mad Mikkelsen David Oakes If I am successful with these, I will then proceed with some more of my favourite actors. I am hoping to detail my progress on here, but as soon as I have finished I will post on here and also on my online portfolio :) www.tonihaythornwhite.weebly.com Hope to write back soon :) x

Three years of University... done and dusted :)

On the 17th of this month, I handed in my last ever University Module and finished my course... I am now waiting on results for two of my modules before, I know if I can graduate in July. I received my mark for my digital sculpting which I am disappointed with, as I feel I went through a week of long nights and put a load of hard work into it and came out with a poor mark... at the end of the day thou I have passed. Just need to take it as that I need more practise with mudbox and not take it to heart. Now I have a up and running website/ online portfolio which I am pleased with :) x www.tonihaythornwhite.weebly.com please feel free to have a look and give me some feedback, as hopefully I will be putting this to interviews :) I am hoping as well to take my photography to the next level, by hopefully getting a part time job in a studio, as I want to experiment in other forms of photography rather than landscape and wildlife. Any new photos will be on my portfolio and flickr ...

A Concept of Time... My VFX project for university :)

Image
Its been a while since I have been on here... but so much has happened and I am happy to say that on the 7th of this month I had to hand in my Individual Project that I had been working on since last september. My Project is a short VFX film "A Concept of Time" it focuses on the element of time travel and how it effects one person journey through a small village (which in this case is my home of Kelbrook :) ) The time period that I have focused on is the second world war and it is shown through various objects such as watchtowers, bunkers ect. I would love to show this off now but, before I can do that, I have to present this in a presentation next thursday.... I am dreading this part... Im not one for doing presentations and having to do this in a lecture theature in front of possible a load of people is starting to freak me out lol.... hopefully this will go well, and after that if you are interested in the piece... please look at my youtube channel thursday evening...

I know its been a while since i last posted on here so i will fill you in with everything that has happened since my post... I will hold my hands up and admit that this will be the first time i have done tracking and rotoscoping in nuke, but i have aquired some tutorials and plan to start tommorow... In design for industry our presentation went really well and we got some great feedback on our concept for driving safetly. But now we have our own contact to do a animation piece. For this i asked a friend ofmy dads, Teaspoon, he works at rolls royce but sings as well and has produced several cds. And for our project our group are producing...
